Option A
(optimized for live school music programs)
No recording charge if minimum order is met
CSGI sells CD’s directly to customer for $15.00 each. If minimum order of 20 CD’s is met, then the
recording fee is waived. If minimum order is not met, then the sponsoring program/department must pay the difference between
actual CD’s sold and the 20 CD minimum.
Example 1: If at a school choir concert, CSGI sells 20 CD’s, then the choir is not charged our normal recording fees.
Example 2: If at a school orchestra concert, CSGI only sells 17 CD’s, then the orchestra is charged a recording fee
of $45.00 for the three CD’s that were short of making the minimum order.

Option C
(recording/studio session)
This option is a professional recording session. Sessions will be done on location to provide convenience and to keep costs
down. Local schools, churches, or other venues are often used if the environment is friendly for recording purposes. CSGI
can offer assistance in choosing and/or securing appropriate venues.
Multiple takes of each song or section may be done, allowing for a more accurate performance. All set-up and tear-down
fees are waived. Recording time is sold in blocks of 4 hours that may be split into two sessions of 2 hours each. After a
4 hour block has been purchased, additional 2 hour blocks of time may be purchased at a discounted rate. Editing and mastering
will be done in cooperation of the ensemble directors in order to ensure the overall best quality performance possible.
4 hour block (may be split) $150.00
additional 2 hour blocks $65.00 each
editing/mastering $25.00 per hour
Example:
If a school music department wanted a fundraising CD for all of its ensembles, a 4 hour block of time would be purchased
($150.00). A two hour block of time might be used for the choir and another two hour block might be used for the orchestra
(on a separate day). An additional two hour block of time ($65.00) might be purchased for the concert band and maybe even
another two hour block of time ($65.00) for the jazz band. Each ensemble director would probably spend about an hour (or less)
with CSGI for the editing/mastering process ($100.00). The total cost of recording, editing, and mastering would be around
$380.00. Production and duplication costs can vary greatly, depending on artwork for CD cases, color scheme for labels, quantity
ordered, etc. A typical order of 100 CD’s usually averages $5.00 per CD, with the price going down for larger quantities.
If there are 100 students in the music program that participated in the above recording scenario, and they each sell 3
CD’s (that is only 1 for the parents and 1 for each set of grandparents, not including other family, friends, church
members, etc.), then an order of 300 CD’s should be made. 300 CD’s ($1200.00) and the recording fees ($380.00)
would cost a total of about $1580.00. If you sold your CD’s for $10.00 each ($3000.00), your fundraising profit would
be around $1420.00. If you sold your CD’s for $15.00 each ($4500.00), your fundraising profit would be closer to $2920.00.
